Veteran Case #1 – WD

“Although it seems I have experienced far too much pain to have emotion, cry; in reading about your effort to help vets with the VA, tears almost came……….I am a 100% DoD disabled Vet and 90% VA raised with100% unemployable……………….it took years of fighting to get each, each coming in increments for what is an obvious, clear cut and well documented case.What I did not mention yet is that I was a Flight Surgeon who knew the regs well and fought the battle myself……………myself because nobody cared or would do anything…….the lack of accountability in both DoD and VA is the single most contributing factor that allows this. To contain cost seems to be the motive and it (is) encouraged from the top. Ignoring regs, lying, criminal behavior…….all and more is acceptable without consequence in this game…………………yet they with insincere voices wonder why the suicide rate is so high……….having been through the system and at one point almost coming there, I well know why and it should be no mystery to them, the VA agents who process the claims.Worse is the care and treatment in the VA, unlike anyplace else, you are subjected to humiliating and time wasting, pointless efforts to contain cost and discourage use of resources………as it is now, I choose to go without care mostly so I am not subjected to the abuse.
